Before and After: MCM Dresser
This dresser could’ve been refinished in many ways that would’ve been very spectacular, but for this mid century piece, we decided to shake it up and try something totally new!
We used Farrow and Ball Off-Black matte paint for the casing of the dresser, which is a slate gray color. It is an in-house color for us because we just love it! It can read navy in some light, but it is just like the name says, a little lighter than black. I love doing off-black in a matte finish. It just look so sleek!
So here’s where we got funky with it. We had this incredible veneer left over from another piece, and so we decided to add it to the drawer fronts. We purchased the veneer from a company called Brookside Veneers. It is called F/C Spalted Walnut. We have a whole deck of these Custom Selexions at our store and there are some insane ones!
We used a spray adhesive to permanently attach the veneer to the drawers. Finally, we added three simple brass knobs to just the top drawers. I’m so thrilled with how this dresser turned out! It’s always fun to try new finishes and turn a vintage piece into something totally unique. Hope you like it!
