How to throw an amazing fall party

If you live in Chicago, you look forward to summer. Summer is amazing in Chicago. The beach, the sun, the festivals, the parks…it is a great time in Chicago. Even though I am a summer fan for sure, fall is where my heart is. Not only do I love the food, weather and decor that surrounds fall, but I love the routine of the kids back in school, normal bed-times and a little more order. Mom has a little, or a lot, more sanity when fall comes. Even though it means winter is around the corner, it still has my heart for sure.

To celebrate my favorite season, we decided to have some of our favorite people over for dinner, our work family. We are a few weeks away from celebrating MegMade’s 4th anniversary and so we wanted to get together, share a laugh, some food and some good stories. We will share more on our anniversary in the coming weeks, but thought you would enjoy the beautiful spread and decor that went along with such an amazing evening.

If you don’t know Shelby, you should. She has been with us for almost three years and is the heart beat of the company. She has been there with us at the peaks and the valleys and stays consistent through it all. She is family, she always will be. She put together the menu for the evening and spent about 12 hours making it all. Whomever she marries is one lucky son of a gun because this girl can host Thanksgiving coming out of the gates.

The spread consisted of:

Easy Glazed Brown Sugar and Dijon Pork Loin

Pear Spinach Salad with Cranberry-Orange Vinaigrette

Brown Sugar – Glazed Carrots

Roasted Squash stuffed with Roasted Veggies

Caramel Apple Pecan Layer Cake

Caramel Topped Pumpkin Cheesecake 

Pumpkin Cheesecake Snickerdoodles

Apple Cider Mimosa

We decorated the table with fall neutrals. I love white and french blue pumpkins with a few whispy greens. We brought some antlers from the store to add a little bit of fun. I think it made the food stand out beautifully.

The fresh made cranberry orange vinaigrette dressing was simply delicious. As I write this, I want some more of that salad. It was delish.

Here are food goals for me. Before I die, I want to make vegetables and meat look this pretty. Cooking has never been my forte, but I love a good spread, so maybe Shelby can teach me.

It just gets better. Not only was the Caramel Apple Pecan Layer Cake absoultely stunning, but it was equally delicious.

And the kids favorite were the Pumpkin Cheesecake cookies. Brooksy couldnt wait apparently. Sticky little fingers!

Shelby topped it off with this incredible Apple Cider Mimosa. So pretty and so good. Slightly dangerously good.

So cheers to one of the best teams around. You have become family. We wish we could celebrate you everyday. But instead, let’s just have fun working together and build a brand that we love and our customers can’t get enough of!
