My word for the year

I was meeting with my mentor the other day and she asked me what she could pray for me for the coming year. I paused a moment and I told her, you know what, I just want breakthrough in so many areas of my life right now. I know what I want things to look like, but need the breakthrough to get there and the only things stopping them is me. So then, right then and there, I claimed it. My word for 2019 is breakthrough.

I know that we all know how to use the word breakthrough, but I loved looking up its meaning. It means an instance of achieving success in a particular sphere or activity.

Backtrack – After I had Finn in October, I took a little bit of time off from the day to day business at MegMade. I was a little worried that with one man down, things would not go as smooth. I was completely wrong. Things went so smoothly. So incredible smoothly in fact that it got me thinking, what else could I be doing to promote growth in the business and also joy in the home since they didn’t really need me there to keep the ship moving in the right direction.

To be honest, it was a strange place for me. I love building a business, but through the last few years I got very comfortable in certain aspects of our business and stopped stretching myself into other areas that seemed less comfortable. But when I am not out there growing the business, the business doesn’t grow as fast. I need to be out there repping the brand, not sitting behind my desk.

This year, I am going to stretch myself into the areas that I am less comfortable with. I am going to be blogging, vlogging, doing more interior design, partnering with new people, among many other things. This is going to be a break out, breakthrough year and I am very excited!

Cheers to mental breakthroughs, spiritual breakthroughs, financial breakthroughs, relationship breakthroughs, professional breakthroughs and all the breakthroughs that you need and desire. Let’s set the sail in the right direction and get there! The beginning of the year is a great time to start!
