Charity of the Month: Hope Works
Every month we get excited about choosing the charity to which we will donate 10% of our profits. We are stoked to be partnering with Hope Works this month. I have been walking alongside Rebekah King, the executive director of Hope Works, as she fights for change in Chicago and I have so much respect for what she is doing.
Rebekah is focusing on the community of Woodlawn where the median annual income is $22,000. The people of this community have faced systemic injustices that have made it difficult, or near impossible, to find better employment opportunities. Hope Works is dedicated to breaking this cycle.
The Mobility Action Partners Program (MAP) helps job seekers find, obtain, and keep their jobs. Hope Works provides resume writing help, interview prep, as well as assistance with housing, healthcare, transportation, and much more.
“The MAP Program aims to address all potential barriers that people may have to employment throughout the job search process so that ultimately, people are able to not only get jobs but keep them.”
We are excited to be able to help extend their reach through our donation at the end of October. Any purchase you make during this month with help us give more to the mission Rebekah and her team are working towards at Hope Works. Way to go Rebekah! We are cheering you on.
