High Glam Living Room by The Chicago Life Blog
The talented Amelia, creator of The Chicago Life Blog, just shared these pictures with me from a recent shoot she did of her client’s home. I am so in love! Amelia is such a genius with color. I am always excited when MegMade gets to be a part of another project of hers.
In this glam living room, we painted the coffee table in Benjamin Moore Emerald Isle in our high gloss finish. How insanely cool is this coffee table?! I love Amelia’s idea to make it a real statement piece in the room. The emerald looks amazing in the dark navy room!
We painted this Heywood Wakefield dresser for this space too. It just goes to show you that dressers can be used for all kinds of spaces! We painted this piece in Polo Blue high gloss. I love painting furniture in the same color as the walls, but in a different sheen- it has such an awesome effect! We had so many people wanting this high back chair. It was originally painted orange so we refinished it in black…wait for it….high gloss. Another example of how working within a limited color palette makes statement pieces more satisfying. The richness here comes in with all the different textures. That painting is so incredible! This room room has such richness. While the art, the walls, the floors, and some of the furniture is dark, the room doesn’t feel dark on the whole. I think it was really smart of Amelia to choose white drapery and white couches to keep things light.
I absolutely love this design. Great job Amelia!
