House rehab – part I

What have you been doing for the last 10 days you ask? Well, we have purchased a house, painted almost all of the 2100 square feet, including the moulding and the ceilings, laid all new carpet, moved out of our old apartment and cleaned it and raised a 9 month old. Wow… now I know why I am exhausted! But it is the good kind of exhausted. The kind where you know you have accomplished a lot! Here is a progression shot of our living room. It is still in motion, but thought I would give you a sneak peek at our progress!

We will post some more pics in the days to come! let us know what you think 🙂

  • It looks amazing. I have never painted wood trim before, but this is the example that proves the haters wrong…plus the wood wasn’t so nice.

  • Hi, Meg. I live in Chicago (west beverly) and came across your blog via craiglist, where I am looking for a buffet with a couple doors to use as a media stand. Anyway, I will keep looking at your postings and just wanted to say love that trim painted white. So fresh. And love also that dresser with union flag. How cute would that be in a boys’ room

  • Love what you’ve done – it looks so fresh and contemporary!! May I ask what paint colors you used? That blue-gray tone is just so spot on. Also, what kind of paint did you use on the moulding/trim? Did you have to sand/prep the wood first, or just paint? Thanks so much!
