New Loft Workspace!

When we started MegMade we had no idea that by now we would have a couple employees, a storefront and now, drum roll please, a stunning loft workspace!

Here’s how it all happened.

We took a leap of faith, knowing that God had blessed what we had already been doing, and opened the store. We were so excited at the time about 750 square feet. We laugh now at how stressed out we were about signing the lease for such a small little storefront.

Then we took our next leap of faith and hired a full time employee. We took this very seriously, knowing that she would be dependent on us for a paycheck. God had been faithful and we took the leap. It was the best choice we have made to date, Gina is da bomb.

After two short months of being on top of each other painting dressers and constantly telling customers to please mind the wet paint, we decided to go on the hunt for an extra space to paint and also hold unfinished pieces.

We started looking several miles west of us, thinking there is no way we could afford somewhere nearby. It was one Monday afternoon that I saw a for rent sign on the side of a building around the corner from our space. I called, I viewed, I fell in love. I literally knew when I walked out that it would be mine. I just had peace. Then I called my husband and then my dad. He is such a wonderful businessman and my biggest fan (outside of my boys). I told him about how I was nervous to take the risk and he encouraged me. I am so glad he did, I now have the keys and am standing a little taller!

We are just so grateful to God that He has opened so many doors for this little dream called MegMade. It has been a CRAZY few months, but so incredible to see it grow! It is truly starting to blossom, even in Chicago’s hardest winter in decades. Thank you for your support of us, we couldn’t do it without you!

Here is a picture of me holding the keys this morning and our first 20 dresser shipment in the new space that we just received today! Look at all those windows and natural light……awww, happy dance!
