Our Story
Meg and Joe Piercy are the kind of couple who believe in rolling up their sleeves and getting it done—whether that means flipping a vintage dresser, designing a dream room, or wrangling their three boys on a family road trip. When they’re not covered in paint or knee-deep in a home makeover, you’ll find them DIY-ing around the house, chasing little feet, or planning their next adventure.
Their story? It starts with a blind date. Yep, BLIND. Meg says she knew she was going to marry Joe the moment she met him—and six weeks later, they were engaged. Fast forward to new parenthood, a very tight budget, and the need for a changing table. Enter: one very sad vintage dresser found in an alley (yes, literally the alley). They fixed it up with love and a whole lot of elbow grease—and just like that, MegMade was born.
They started painting furniture in their basement and selling it on Craigslist. Then came the name: Joe kept saying “Meg made that” to customers until someone finally said, “Well, why don’t you just call it MegMade?” So they did. One week later, they signed a lease on a teeny-tiny warehouse. Today? They've got storefronts in Chicago and Munster, Indiana, and they’re shipping style nationwide.
Oh—and if they look familiar, you might’ve seen them on HGTV’s Renovation Goldmine, where they help homeowners save big bucks by giving new life to the furniture they already own. It's all part of the MegMade magic: making homes beautiful without tossing what you’ve got.
Now, MegMade isn’t just about painted furniture (though we still love a good makeover). They offer custom pieces, home décor, interior design—you name it. Their goal? Help you make your home totally YOU. Because old is gold, new can be custom, and your space should always tell your story.

About Meg
Born and raised in Kansas City and graduate of the University of Kansas, Meg Piercy has mid-western roots but always dreamed of living in a big city. After she graduated with a degree in Journalism and Strategic Communications, Meg left her hometown and moved to Chicago, Illinois, looking for the excitement in life that only a big city can bring - little did she know that she would surely build new roots that would last a lifetime.
Meg works with passion and hopes that her customers will see that. With all the hustle and bustle that takes place behind the scenes at MegMade, her absolute favorite part is to see the “after” of her refinished pieces, because that’s where you can truly see and appreciate all that the piece has to offer.
“I am the founder of MegMade, but I’m also a mom, an encourager, creative, scrappy, a hustler, easy-going, a people person, and down to Earth, and I only hope you can see this represented in my designs.”
