8 AFFORDABLE WAYS TO REVAMP YOUR BEDROOM

I always say, your bedroom is where you begin and end your day - it's important to make it a space that you not only want to wake up and get the day going in, but also where you can wind down at the end of a productive day. It's so important to create a sanctuary that sets the tone for your day and allows you to escape from reality. I get questions all the time asking when it's worth it to spend the extra money. To be honest - it's different for everyone depending on how you use your space! Creating the perfect space to take some time for yourself can be worth the extra money, but here at MegMade, we love getting crafty when it comes to sticking to a smaller budget too. Here are 8 affordable tips I have for staying in budget while still creating a bedroom like no other:

Start Fresh

The first step to creating a curated look is to get rid of the unneeded clutter - and it doesn't cost a thing! Clean out your closet and the junk drawer inside of your nightstand, get rid of all the stuff you haven't used since 2010 and start fresh. I believe it's best to make sure each room has its purpose, so it's important not to let things that belong in other places make their way into your bedroom and stay there. Trust me, I know that random stuff just happens to pile up in a house, especially if you have kids. Take this opportunity to go through your things and click reset - you'll be so happy you did!

Add A Pop Of Pattern

If you're looking to make some small changes that will make a big difference, add in a pop of pattern in ways like an accent wall of wallpaper, some throw pillows, or through the fabric on an end of the bed bench. A few years ago, decorating in all neutrals was all the rage. Now people are realizing they need at least a few pops of fun patterns and textures to make it feel more like them. With a few simple touches, you can give the room some personality without breaking the bank.

Switch Out Your Throw Pillows

Buying throw pillows you love will elevate your bed and can bring together the rest of the space! This is a really simple option to pull the whole room together, and is way more affordable than starting new. I love adding three euro pillows with a lumbar pillow in front. Mix up the patterns, colors and textures and get creative with it!

Upgrade The "Fifth Wall"

Needing that punch of fun? Get creative with your "fifth wall" aka your ceiling! Add wallpaper or even a few coats of paint to bring the eyes up and create interest. This is a simple way to completely change the look of your space at a fraction of the price for what it would cost to repaint or wallpaper the entire room. Plus, it's so unique and will make the rest of your space stand out!

Rearrange Your Furniture And Decor

Sometimes all you need to make your space feel brand new is to rearrange the furniture you already have! I'm always changing out my decor throughout other rooms to make it feel fun and different.

Revamp Your Old Pieces

Buying new furniture can get expensive. Have a few pieces that work but don't quite fit the look and style you're going for? Revamp their look by DIYing at a fraction of the price! About a year ago, we came out with a DIY Furniture Paint -- it's perfect because it requires very little prep and no prime at all! Click HERE to shop our paint collection.

Refresh Your Walls

If you're looking for a quick refresh, adding a few coats of paint can make a world of a difference! Especially if you're doing it yourself, painting a room isn't that expensive and it can completely transform how your furniture and decor looks in your space.

Lift It Up

Sometimes the best way to make your space feel put together for less is to hang those things that take up space on your nightstands and/or dresser. Think about opting for sconces rather than table lamps or mounting your T.V. rather than putting it on your dresser. Little things like that seem small but make a huge difference!

I hope these tips and tricks were helpful to help you get started on the bedroom of your dreams.
