Fall Activities in Chicago!

Fall is coming y’all! I am so so so excited because that means cozy is in session and chillier days are before us! Part of me is just so ready to start this next chapter of the year, but at the same time, I also cannot believe how fast these prior months came and went. But either way, fall is here, and that means, all the fun fall activities are approaching as well! Although Chicago has unlimited things to do in all seasons, there are some fall activities that you MUST enjoy!

Bengston’s Pumpkin Fest

My number one fall tradition is to go to Bengston’s Pumpkin Fest! This annual fall tradition literally is one of my favorite things to do in Chicago! They make the absolute best pumpkin donuts, they have a ton of amazing farm animals, they have pig races, pumpkins for days, a huge corn seed area - there is just SO much to do there, that without or without kids, this place is where you have to go to celebrate the fall!

Zoolights

Once the days get a little shorter, and nights get a little longer - you have to check out Zoolights at the Lincoln Park Zoo! Guys, there is nothing like this! Once it gets dark out, they light up the entire zoo with beautiful, colorful lights, and you get to walk around, grab some hot apple cider - and just take it all in!

Lincoln Square Apple Fest

Is it even fall, if you didn’t get some apples? Another great event in Chicago is the annual apple fest in Lincoln Square! There a ton of vendors, selling candy apples, clothing, and all the in-betweens! It’s just one of those feel-good family day events, that allows you to unwind and take in all that fall has to offer!

Haunted Halsted Halloween & Parade

Fall means Halloween guys! Yes, we love Halloween here at MegMade, so even just writing about it is getting me so excited for the months to come! But this year, if you’re in Chicago, you have to check out the Haunted Halsted Halloweek & Parade! It’s such a fun time for the kiddos - and it’s free to watch & participate! If you’re up to it, you can actually dress up and march in the parade and even win a prize for the best costume! If not, it’s open for watching from the sidelines too!

Arts in the Dark Parade

Another super fun parade, the Arts in the Dark parade let’s all the amazing talent in Chicago come to light - in the dark that is! You can either attend the parade or participate as an artist!

LaBagh Woods

More of a do-it-yourself type day, LabBagh woods, located around the bank of Chicago’s river, has about 35 miles of trails that just are encompassed by the most amazing fall foliage you will ever see! If you’re looking for a relaxing day out with some nature and maybe packing along a picnic, this is the place to go to see it all!

Hot Cocoa 5k

You may be wondering, how do the two go together? Well they say - your morning run just got a whole lot sweeter! It’s not just a race, but a celebration of fall! Spend the day racing, in a costume if you want, win prizes, enjoy the outdoors - and get some extra sweet hot cocoa!
