5 STEPS TO CUSTOMIZING YOUR MEGMADE VANITY

Source: KitchenStudioGE Instagram

If you've been following along, you know that Joe and I's passion is taking something rough and making it beautiful. It's all about how you find the gold within it!! We love taking vintage furniture and customizing it to be the perfect piece for every family's home. We've gotten a ton of questions about how we turn our pieces into bathroom vanities, so I thought I would give you guys an inside look at the process we go through with each customer to create the exact look they're envisioning!

Here are the five steps to customize your MegMade vanity:

Step One: Choose Your Dresser

The first step in the process is to choose the unfinished piece that fits your measurement requirements and the look you're going for! We have hundreds of items in our inventory at all times, so you'll definitely have options. If you're not finding the perfect fit for you in that moment, we get new pieces in almost daily, so we can keep you updated if we get a piece in that fits what you're looking for!

Here are a few options in our current inventory that I love for a bathroom vanity:

Step Two: Choose Your Functions

Once you've chosen a piece, we'll need to decide the functionality of it. We don't personally provide the actual sink aspect of the design, but we will work with you to get it all put together! We can create false drawers to allow for the depth of the sink, create holes in the back for plumbing or even take off the top of the piece to be replaced with marble. By the end of this process, what once was a bedroom dresser is now a fully functional bathroom vanity!

Step Three: Choose Your Color Or Stain

Now comes the fun part! The next step is to choose the color or stain you envision your vanity in. We offer 10 in-house colors and 5 different stain options in the base price. I hand-picked these specific colors and stains because they're so universal, so you shouldn't have any trouble choosing one to fit the rest of your space! If you have a specific color in mind, we're also able to color match any color under the sun at an additional charge of $100. We usually recommend this if you're looking to do an exact color match to other aspect of the design like your wallpaper, wall decor, etc.

Step Four: Choose Your Finish

Once you've chosen your color or stain, it's time to choose your finish! Our base price comes with a satin finish. We finish each piece as a protective layer to deter any sort of water damage. If you're wanting to get a little more fun with it, I would recommend going with our gloss finish to give it a little bit of a pop. Our other customization items are listed below:

Finish Customization Menu
satin - included
matte + 10%
gloss + 15%
wet piano gloss + 30%
stain + 15-50%
ceruse + 30%
metal base - $250-500

Step Five: Choose Your Hardware

Lastly, it's time to choose your hardware! I usually love the vintage hardware that each piece comes with, but if it's not what you're looking for, we have a ton of other options to choose from. Click HERE to shop some of our hardware options! Another option is to purchase your hardware elsewhere and have it shipped to the store - we'll take the hassle out for you and install it!

Hardware Customization Options:

paint hardware - $2/handle
fill in hardware holes - $4/hole
