Spring has officially sprung, which means it’s time to breathe new life into the spaces around you! I feel like spring is when I really motivate myself to start fresh. Anyone else? I get outside more, feel revived by the fresh ingredients the season brings and get motivated to finish those projects in my home that I may have been putting off! We’ve been working with a lot of clients who are looking to breathe new life into their space, and we’ve been loving the new ideas and designs we’ve helped them create. Here are some designs styles this season we’re incorporating into our client’s homes this spring and summer season:

Tie Natural Woods With Pops Of Color

Want to add color to your space but intimidated by going too bold? Mixing woods with color is a great way to create a space with character that’s not overbearing. I would suggest adding woods in areas like flooring, cabinetry, coffee tables, etc. and pops of color through rugs, throw pillows, furniture pieces, etc. Adding wood to a space is always a safe bet because even though it feels like you’re playing it safe, it adds a variation of color, texture and pattern! With the pops of color, it creates a sophisticated and the feeling of “home”. As long as it fits the look that YOU love it will never go out of style.

Mix Old And New

If we’ve seen anything over the last year, it’s that making a home feel like “you” is the best way to love where you live. We use a lot of modern traditional design styles in the sense that we love mixing old and new! Whether it’s by taking a vintage piece and restoring it, using old photo frames or pictures that mean a lot to you and your family or even just thrifting some decor that adds some character, you can add tons of character into your home this summer by mixing things you already own that might be considered “vintage” with new styles that you love!

Reinvent Your Space Through DIY

Spring and summer are the perfect times to knock out some of those DIY projects you’ve been planning for years! Get outside and paint your vintage dresser that’s just been passed down to you, build that garden area you’ve been dreaming about in the winter and/or check off that to-do list to get your home in shape. Joe and I are always dreaming up projects to do around the house, it’s why we bought a fixer-upper! DIYing a space in your home makes it feel fresh and new for summer, not to mention, it saves a ton and gives you an amazing satisfaction that you did it yourself!
