HOW JOE AND I GOT ENGAGED

Many of you have heard how MegMade started (if you haven't click HERE!), but many of you may not know the how we got to the point of painting a dresser in our living room. Here at MegMade, we design and hand-select every product to make your experience as personal as possible. We want to get to know you to give the most personal experience as possible while creating a home like no other - because every design should give off the personality and style of the people that call it home! In turn, we want you to get to know us a little bit, so today I wanted to share another chapter of our story -- How Joe and I got engaged:

Joe and I had been dating for about 5 weeks when he asked my parents for their blessing (I know -- that's less than our turnaround time!). I guess when you know you know, right?! He started planning out his proposal with my family, and at the time, I was on a trip to Australia to visit one of my close friends. My mom told Joe, "Call my sister -- she's a flight attendant for United and can help you do something special".

I heard this story after the fact, but the day Joe called my aunt, she was in the grocery store. She was so excited thinking about all the planning and ideas she lost her cart at the store!

Joe met my aunt at the O'hare airport, where she got him a flight to "go to Minneapolis" just to get through security. He got down to my gate with flowers and a ring in his hand and the lady at the desk said "This has never happened before, I want to call the pilot to see if I can get you on the plane -- because this only happens in movies".

She must have gotten ahold of the pilot, because as we were descending the flight attendant came over the intercom and said, "Is there a Meg Robinson in 17B? I have a message for you, your boyfriend is on, bended knee, asking will you marry me."

The flight attendant brought me wine -- thank goodness because my heart was beating out of my chest! Right after we landed, I called Joe expecting him to meet me at baggage claim, but he didn't answer.

As everyone was standing up to deplane, the pilot got on the intercom and said "We need everyone to sit back down". At this point, it was like 11 p.m. and we had just gotten done with an international flight, so everyone was completely exhausted. As we were all sitting back down, Joe walked down and proposed to me right at my seat.

It was one of the most special moments of my life, and one I will never forget. Leave it to Joe to somehow get past all those security clearances! Sometimes you meet someone, whether it be the person you're going to marry or anyone who's going to make the best impact on your life in the craziest ways -- and the rest is history! I love our story, and I hope you did too.
