One of the things Joe and I talk about a lot in life and in design — is boldness.
Not the loud, in-your-face kind of boldness, but the kind that comes from being rooted in who you are. The kind of boldness that shows up when you stop decorating for what’s trendy and start creating from a place of confidence and authenticity. Because here’s the truth: a bold decision doesn’t just change your home… it changes you.
Small Choices, Big Impact
When I look back on my own life, so many of the most meaningful moments came from small but bold choices.
Homes are the same way. One bold paint color, a patterned chair, or a vintage statement piece can shift everything. You don’t have to renovate an entire house to feel a change sometimes one intentional, slightly daring choice is the spark that makes a space come alive.
Boldness Begins with Authenticity
For us, authenticity isn’t just a word it’s a compass. It’s how Joe and I try to live: in our family, in our marriage, and in our business.
In design, boldness and authenticity go hand in hand. Bold design is fun, yes, but more importantly, it’s freeing. Because when you choose pieces that reflect who you are, you stop chasing perfection. You start curating a home that feels honest, lived in, and deeply you. That’s the beauty of authenticity, it grounds you while giving you the courage to choose boldly.
Don’t Be Afraid of Bold Steps
Bold decisions often feel risky in the moment, but they lay the foundation for bigger dreams down the road. They’re also the choices that inspire others. When someone walks into a home that feels confident and personal, they feel it. They’re inspired to find that same voice in their own space.
Bold design doesn’t mean overwhelming. It means moving with intention. Choosing the sofa you’ll build family memories on. Keeping Grandma’s dresser but refinishing it so it feels fresh. Layering in color, texture, and story instead of quick-fix filler.
Bold Means Finding Your Voice
Here’s what I’ve learned: the boldest homes aren’t built just with furniture or paint. They’re built with confidence and story. They hold the voice of your family, your memories, your laughter, your legacy.
That’s what makes bold decisions so powerful. They don’t just fill a room, they anchor it. They make it personal, soulful, and alive.
So my encouragement to you today: keep moving forward. Keep choosing boldly. That’s how a house becomes a home.
