TRENDS I'M LOVING FOR 2022: COLOR

This year we're quite literally looking forward to a better and brighter year when it comes to interior design trends in 2022. If the past two years gave us anything, it gave us a chance to reconnect with our homes and find creative inspiration to transform our spaces into what we've been dreaming of!! Since Joe and I are still in the process of renovating our new home, I'm so excited to add these elements into our space and show you guys the finished product! If you've followed me for a little white you KNOW I love color. Bright, moody you name it -- I love it!

Here are some ways you can add color to any space in your home:

Furniture

A color piece of furniture is an instant mood booster! When it comes to furniture, there are so many ways you can add color. It doesn't necessarily have to be a bright yellow piece like the piano above! If you're unsure, I always suggest going with a "colorful neutral". Colorful neutrals are colors like navy, spade greens, etc. that are not considered a neutral by definition, but they go with everything! Start with a small piece of furniture and choose a bold color -- it's amazing how much a small pop of color on furniture can liven up a space.

On Your Walls

Trying to get out of your all neutral phase? So many people have collected all neutral furniture over the years, and now they want to add some personality back into their space! My solution? Add it to your walls! There are so many ways to make your walls fun. Add a fresh coat of paint, install some wallpaper you love or add a pop of colorful tile in places like a bathroom or kitchen. Worried about resale-ability? People love to see personality in a home! Joe and I have seen over the years that color actually affects resale-ability in a positive way. So many homes nowadays are all white and gray. If you have a few pops of color that are nice and timeless, people will tend to gravitate to that on the market first! At the end of the day, your home is a place you can really show your style and personality — make it yours! Need help choosing the right color for your space? Throw In A Statement Rug

If you’re looking to add some color into your space, adding in a fun rug is a great place to start. You can go as fun with this as you want! Even if you don’t go super bold, finding a fun rug you love is a great starting point to then pull different colors out of it and place them in other aspects around the room. This photo is a perfect example of adding a pop of color that doesn't feel intimidating. It adds character to an otherwise pretty neutral room and adds the personality it may have been missing before.

Show Your Personality Through Art

Adding some color with art is the oldest trick in the book - but that's because it comes with ease! Your personality and style really show through with the art you choose in your space. Now that you know how, add some art that will help tie your pops of color together to make for a cohesive finish.

Add It In The Finishing Touches

Not sure you want to go all in on color yet? Start small! Add a few pops of color through your finishing touches like throw pillows, decor, etc. Especially if you're new to the color game, it'll be a great start because you can always change it out. I'm constantly switching my decor from one room to the next -- it's interchangeable!

This is your sign to bring your personality into your spaces to really make your house a home! If there's one piece of advice I can give -- it's that adding color doesn't have to be out of your comfort zone. There are so many "neutral" colors besides whites, grays, blacks, and browns that just as subtle, yet somehow way more fun! As always, I would LOVE to see how you use color in your space at home.
